“The natural world has long been a source of inspiration for my work, informing the music on several previous albums – notably Mana (Ampwall | Bandcamp), which was directly influenced by specific surroundings. This album differs in that I have not personally visited any of the locations referenced in the track titles. Each of these places is renowned for its natural beauty, significance, and sense of awe. Rather than drawing on direct experience, I approached them through research and visual study, imagining what it might be like to be present and seeking to capture the atmosphere I believed they embodied.
The resulting compositions may be understood as a tribute to these remarkable locations, though their meaning is not confined to any single place. Wherever you are, there exist landscapes of exceptional beauty capable of providing similar inspiration. Listeners may find it useful to explore the locations associated with each piece by examining images in order to better appreciate the intentions behind the music.
As the album unfolds its perspective gradually widens to encompass the Earth as a whole, before concluding with two thematic reflections: Hope?—a question that underscores the necessity of optimism for survival—and Null, a final meditation on nothingness.”
