In 2021, after an extended exile from music – both creating and listening, I began to feel the need to create reawaken quite suddenly and completely unexpectedly. Deciding to tentatively assemble a musical project and then identity, I sifted through my archives of ideas, bits and pieces and half finished tunes, and put the first Asha Patera album together. Some of the material was old, some newer, but at the time I was happy to have a collection of material I felt I could put out and see where it took me. This began the now ongoing Asha Patera project: Asha for truth – whatever musical path takes my interest is where the music will go, no restrictions on style, expectation or demand. The music has evolved over the course of the last few years, taking me on a journey with it. Who knows where it will lead.
